In line with the responsibility of Kharazmi University as the national coordinator for scientific cooperation between Iran and Austria, a meeting was held at the office of the KHU president on Wednesday, 10 March, 2021, in which the First Secretary of the Austrian Embassy, Ms. Barbara Grosse, and the deputy for the Austrian embassy’s Cultural Association in Tehran, Ms. Birgit Gischer were present. In this meeting, the KhU director of the Bureau for International Scientific Cooperation, Dr. Kamran Ahmadgoli, the head of the Office for the Development of International Scientific Cooperation, Dr. Mahdi Ghaemi Asl, and two staff members associated with this bureau, Ms. Sara Yazdani and Mr. Hossein Salehi, were also present.
In this meeting, Dr. Ahmadgoli talked about the history of KhU, its notable alumni and distinguished figures, including one of the former presidents of Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad-Ali Rajai (1933-1981) and the 20th century Persian poet, Parvin Etesami (1907-1941). He, moreover, introduced the facilities and capabilities of KhU in the field of research and education, and explained about the road map of the Iran-Austria Joint Economic Committee’s taskforces as well as the role of KhU in the Academic Cooperation Taskforce. Dr. Ahmadgoli also referred to the 3rd Iran-Austria Joint Scientific Summit in May 2021 in his speech as the upcoming joint event between the two countries.
And Ms. Barabara Grosse talked about the history as well as the century-long academic heritage of KhU, and made suggestions about holding webinars on topics such as interfaith dialogue and organizing German language courses.
