Dr. Mehry Akbary is a graduate of the University of Tehran and has been a faculty member in the field of Climatology at Kharazmi University since 2013. Her research interests include the climatological analysis of extreme events, such as floods and droughts, from a climate change perspective. Over the past decade, her research has also focused on investigating how atmospheric circulation patterns over Iran have changed as a result of global warming, as well as assessing and analyzing their relationships with atmospheric hazards such as dust storms, temperature extremes, and atmospheric rivers. The findings of her research have been published in reputable international scientific journals.

Since 2014, she has also been involved in various administrative and executive activities at the university, including serving on the Supreme Council for the Centenary of Kharazmi University and deputy director of the university’s International Relations Office.

In recent years, in addition to her academic and research activities at Iranian universities, Dr. Mehry Akbary has served as the Chair of the National Geography Olympiad Committee of Iran and, as the leader of the Iranian National Geography Olympiad Team, guided Iranian students to win Iran’s first-ever international medals in iGeo.
